Powertrain and Chassis

So here’s the deal — this is where the M-Hero M800 earns its keep. The headline version is REEV, a range-extender, not a plug-in hybrid. Mind you, that distinction matters more than the brochure lets on: a PHEV can drive the wheels mechanically through a clutch-coupled engine, whereas this REEV uses the engine purely as a generator feeding the motors. The electric motors do all the actual pushing. That’s the thing, really — you get EV smoothness with petrol as a backstop, never as a direct drive. It feels like an EV that simply refuses to run out.

Pure electric range on the REEV is a usable figure for daily city running. You will, eventually, do most weeks without ever visiting a pump. Total combined range with the range-extender engaged clears a thousand kilometres comfortably, or thereabouts. Which is the point, at this price, for markets where charging is patchy at best.
