The Landian E3 showed up in China in late 2023, and it’s the quiet, sensible one in SERES’ budget EV line. Think of it as a subcompact SUV built to do a job: carry five people, charge fast, cost little to run. No theatre. No flagship posturing. It’s the kind of car a dealer can stock without sweating the margin, and a self-importer can land without a headache. Two trims really — a 90 kW base and a 150 kW version — but the bones are the same underneath.
Exterior
It’s a small thing. Wheelbase is 2,655 mm, and the whole body runs 4,415 mm long, 1,850 wide, 1,650 tall. That’s genuinely compact, the kind you park in a city slot without a second pass.
The face is closed-off, as every BEV is now. A slim light bar ties the headlights together — halogen on the cheaper trim, full LED if you step up. The one people photograph is the openable panoramic roof, standard on the higher trim and absent on the base. Small thing, but buyers notice.
Roof rails are there. Active grille shutter too, which is the bit I’d actually point out — it closes at speed to cut drag. Wheels are 17s on the base, 18s on the Luxury, both wearing 215-section rubber. Hidden handles? No. Frameless doors? No. It’s honest about being a value car, and that’s fine.
Colours are limited — Nebula White, Star Ocean Blue, a couple more. Nothing loud. The charge port sits right rear for DC, left rear for AC. You’ll remember that the first time you pull up to a charger.
Interior
Step in and it’s plain, in a good way. The base trim gets a 3.5-inch trip screen and a basic wheel; the Luxury gives you a 10.25-inch full LCD cluster plus a 10.25-inch central display. That’s the thing, really — the step-up trim is where the cabin stops feeling like a fleet car.
Seats are leatherette. Five of them, 2+3, with a 40:60 fold at the back. Boot is 269 L — not huge, mind you, and the bench doesn’t fully drop, which the spec sheets quietly skip. You’ll want that space measured in person before you commit a container to it.
Wireless charging is 15 W on the Luxury, absent down below. A 360 camera is Luxury-only too. The shifter is an electronic knob — the short version, it works, no drama. Four speakers base, six up top. Climate is manual on the cheap one, auto on the other. Voice control is there, 4G connected, real-time nav. Honestly fine for what this is.
Powertrain and Chassis
It’s battery and nothing else. No engine, no generator, nothing to fill up — a pure BEV. The pack is LFP, 50.296 kWh on the dot, made by Shanghai Lanjun (REPT/Battero depending on the batch). Liquid-cooled, warranty eight years or 150,000 km.
Single front motor, front-wheel drive. Base trim makes 90 kW and 220 Nm — enough, but you feel it’s a city car, 0-100 in 11.9 seconds. The Luxury bumps to 150 kW and 310 Nm, and that one does 0-100 in 8.5. Top speed is 165 km/h either way.
Range is 405 km CLTC. That’s the number buyers ask about, and it’s real-world usable, not inflated WLTP theatre. Consumption sits at 14.2 kWh/100km.
Charging is the strong point. DC 20-80 percent in about 40 minutes — 0.67 hours, the spec says — and a full AC top-up takes 10 hours on a wallbox. V2L is supported, so you can run a kettle at a campsite. The battery temp management? Not fitted. Small gap, but worth knowing in a hot climate.
Underneath: MacPherson up front, torsion beam at the rear. That’s the one compromise you’ll feel on a broken road — it’s fine on smooth tarmac, less composed over bumps. Brakes are ventilated discs all round, EPB, ABS, ESC, traction control all standard. Tyres 215/55 R18 on the Luxury.
FAQ
Is the Landian E3 a real SUV or just a tall hatchback? It’s a proper subcompact SUV on a load-bearing body — five doors, 180 mm of ground clearance, roof rails, the lot. Not a lifted hatch. The torsion-beam rear is the only giveaway that it’s built to a price.
Which trim should a dealer stock? The 150 kW Luxury, in my experience. The 90 kW base is cheap but feels slow and lacks the screen, the camera, the sunroof. The Luxury is the one customers photograph and the one that actually sells itself on the lot.
How does the LFP battery hold up in heat or cold? LFP is forgiving — long cycle life, no cobalt, safe chemistry. The catch is no active thermal management fitted, so in very hot or very cold markets you’ll see more range drop than a liquid-conditioned pack. We’d flag that to warm-climate buyers up front.
Can I import the Landian E3 to my country? You can. We handle the export side — documentation, shipping, and port delivery — for both dealerships and self-importers. Homologation and local type-approval are on the buyer’s side, since every market reads the 405 km CLTC figure differently. We’ll give you the full spec pack and conformity docs to take to your authority.
How do we source and start with you? We don’t build cars — we buy from the SERES plant and move them. You tell us the trim and volume, we quote ex-works, arrange the export paperwork and the ocean freight, and you take delivery at your port. Start with a single unit to sample, or a container load — the short version, we make the logistics boring so the selling isn’t.
