The BMW i5 is a new all-electric luxury sedan launched by BMW, targeting the mid-size car market. It combines BMW’s consistent high-performance and luxury qualities while introducing the latest electric technology, aiming to provide users with an excellent driving experience and environmentally friendly travel options. The BMW i5 not only continues the classic elements of the BMW family in its exterior design, but also makes comprehensive upgrades to its interior, performance and configuration.
Appearance
The exterior design of BMW i5 continues the style of the new-generation BMW 5 Series, adopting the iconic double-kidney front grille and incorporating champagne gold elements around the grille and the front surroundings, which increases the sense of luxury and recognition. The side of the car is simple and smooth, and the classic Höchst corner is designed with the “5” light logo, which produces a blue breathing effect when charging. The overall styling is dynamic, retaining BMW’s sporty genes and showing the modernity of new energy vehicles.
Interior
The interior design of BMW i5 is luxurious and full of technology. The car is equipped with a 12.3-inch LCD instrument panel and a 14.9-inch touch screen, which adopts a linked-screen design, and the whole is tilted towards the driver for easy operation. The center console and inner door panels are equipped with a wrap-around interactive light strip, and the hidden air conditioning vents are integrated with the LED light strip, creating an edgy and sophisticated interior environment. In addition, the BMW i5 offers high-end features such as a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system, a four-zone automatic climate control system, and a giant 31-inch suspended screen with a resolution of up to 8K at the top of the rear seats that supports real-time connectivity.
Performance
The BMW i5 is equipped with fifth-generation BMW eDrive electric drive technology, which provides powerful performance. The entry-level eDrive 40 version with rear-mounted electric motor produces 340 hp and 430 Nm of peak torque, and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in six seconds. The high-performance version of the M60 xDrive is equipped with a two-motor four-wheel drive system with a maximum power of 601 hp, a peak torque of 820 Nm, and an acceleration time of 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. In addition, the BMW i5 has a range of between 536 kilometers and 700 kilometers, depending on the model and configuration.
Configuration
The BMW i5 is very well equipped, offering a wide range of options to meet the needs of different users. Standard features include a full-color flat-screen display system, an intelligent connected cockpit, and a Harman/Kardon high-end audio system. Optional features include Automatic Driver Assistance Pro, 19-inch or 20-inch aerodynamic wheels, BMW Suspended Giant Screen, and so on. In addition, the BMW i5 supports high-power charging service, which greatly shortens the charging time and enhances the user’s convenience.
