The BYD Seal DM-i is BYD’s next generation mainstream midsize sedan. This car is based on the DM-i super hybrid midsize car platform, further experience in size and space, chassis quality, power and driving control, etc. On September 6, 2023, Seal DM-i, a mid-size sedan of BYD Ocean-X network, was officially launched, and the new car is available in six models.

Exterior

Seal DM-i continues the design language of OCEAN-X, with sharp “ocean eyes” headlights, very powerful. The front grille is horizontally arranged. The tail lamps are shimmering dot-matrix through the tail lamps, dot-matrix arrangement, like the water shimmering. This design is not only Exterior simple and very recognizable, but also presents a sense of extension and the beauty of the ocean without boundaries.

Interior

Seal DM-i adopts the new-generation Interior design of Ocean Net. The new car’s dashboard adopts a “2+1” combination configuration, namely two large-sized large screen: W-HUD head-up display system and 15.6-inch adaptive rotating suspension Pad, and a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument. As for the seats, both the main and passenger cars are equipped with multi-directional power adjustment. The ripple-ring embracing seats with a dual-patch color design with three-dimensional stitching are full and generous.

Performance

Seal DM-i will offer “two sets of power + two ranges”, i.e. 1.5L and 1.5T DM-i hybrid system. The car’s fuel consumption is 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers, and its acceleration time from 0-100km/h is 7.9 seconds. In terms of range, the Seal DM-i offers two NEDC pure electric ranges of 121km and 200km.

Configuration

The Seal DM-i comes with luxury features such as 19-inch wheels, heat pump air-conditioning, 69 kW DC fast charging, 6 kW external discharge, front and rear 12-parking radar, 220V power sockets inside the car, ventilated/heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, and 50W wireless charging for cell phones. In addition, the new car is equipped with 12 airbags, as well as HUD head-up display, driver fatigue detection, and real-time tire pressure monitoring, which can provide additional safety for drivers at critical moments.
