Founded in 1958, Beijing Automobile Works (BAW) is the second large-scale automobile manufacturer in China after Changchun No.1 Automobile Works, which merged with Beijing Motorcycle Works to form Beijing Automobile and Motorcycle Joint Manufacturing Company (BAM) in 1987 and was reorganized with Beijing Automobile Assembly Plant in 2001 to create Beijing Automobile Works (BAW) according to the modern enterprise system.
With more than 40 years of history in the development and production of light off-road vehicles and trucks, the company is mainly engaged in the development, production and sales of light off-road vehicles, trucks and related special-purpose vehicles. It is a designated manufacturer of military vehicles in China, the backbone of light off-road vehicles and trucks in China, and has been listed as one of the four key vehicle manufacturers in the development of Beijing Municipality.

Hardcore Off-road Vehicle R&D Experience
BAW is the pioneer of Chinese military off-road vehicles, the first light off-road vehicle BJ210 was launched in 1963, and the legendary BJ212 was launched in 1965, with a cumulative total of more than 2 million units produced and sold, which is still the representative of domestic off-road vehicles.BJ212 adopts high-strength body structure and durable chassis design, which has been widely deployed by the Central Military Commission and participated in a number of military parades.
R Platform and Hot Stamping Technology
The R platform, compatible with fuel and new energy models, adopts hot-stamped ultra-high-strength steel bodywork to enhance safety and lightweighting, and the proportion of hot-stamped parts in a single vehicle is gradually increasing36.
High-precision Production Lines
Qingdao, Dezhou and other production bases follow GM’s BIQ Level 4 standards, with an automation rate of 78% and 306 robots, ensuring that the precision of body-in-white manufacturing is controlled within ±0.5mm.
