Exterior Design

The BYD Song Ultra DM-i carries over the design of the EV model. The front fascia features a closed-off grille paired with black trim panels, with the “Song” logo centered in the middle. Additionally, the vehicle offers an optional LiDAR system and is equipped with the “Eye of the Sky B” driver-assistance system, which supports highway and urban autonomous driving. In terms of color options, the new model is available in six shades: Fire Rock Gray, Snow Mountain White, Mist Purple, Star River Beige, Palm Green, and Obsidian Black.

The side profile features a subtle fastback design with a sporty aesthetic, complemented by semi-concealed door handles and multi-spoke alloy wheels. The rear features a full-width taillight design, with an internal structure incorporating BYD’s signature “Chinese knot” motif, making it highly recognizable when illuminated. In terms of dimensions, the Song Ultra DM-i measures 4,850 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,670 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm.

Interior Design

The BYD Song Ultra DM-i also carries over the design of the EV version, featuring a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen paired with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. It is complemented by a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and an electronic gear selector. It is equipped with a next-generation AI smart cockpit featuring DiLink-150, which comes with the all-new UI 7.0 infotainment system. This system supports 5G connectivity, four-zone voice recognition and wake-up commands, an app store, facial recognition, and remote control via a mobile app.

In terms of features, the new model is equipped with front seats that offer heating, ventilation, heating, and 10-point independent massage; a front passenger “queen’s seat” (reclining mode); a smart climate-controlled storage compartment (cooling range: -6°C to 15°C; heating range: 35°C to 50°C); 127-color ambient lighting; a 16-speaker audio system; an in-car fragrance system; 50W wireless phone charging; a 26-inch HUD (Head-Up Display); heated steering wheel; a panoramic sunroof; and 7 airbags.

Powertrain

The Song Ultra DM-i is equipped with fifth-generation DM technology, featuring a plug-in hybrid system comprising a 1.5L engine and an electric motor. The 1.5L engine delivers a maximum power output of 74 kW, while the drive motor produces 175 kW and 270 Nm of peak torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in as little as 7.5 seconds, with an NEDC fuel consumption of 3.3 L/100 km when running on gasoline.

In terms of range, the new model offers a choice of 26.6 kWh and 38 kWh battery packs, with CLTC pure electric ranges of 205 km and 310 km, respectively. The maximum combined range reaches 1,845 km. It supports a maximum charging power of 82 kW, with a charge time of less than 17 minutes from 30% to 80% SOC.
