Blade Battery
Based on environmental governance and supply chain security considerations, BYD launched the high safety Blade Battery in March 2020 through continuous integration and innovation on the basis of new energy industry chain technologies. Adopting lithium iron phosphate technology, the blade battery has a 50% increase in volumetric specific energy density, passes the industry’s toughest pin-prick test to redefine EV safety standards, has excellent cycling performance (15,000 times), has a service life of one million kilometers, and is free of nickel, cobalt, and other rare metals. Since its launch in March 2020, the installed volume of lithium iron phosphate, which is mainly a blade battery, has risen rapidly: in May 2021, the single-month output of lithium iron phosphate batteries surpassed that of lithium ternary batteries for the first time; in July, the installed volume of single-month batteries surpassed that of lithium ternary batteries for the first time, and continued to maintain the leading edge. BYD with its own power to pull the power battery back to the correct course of lithium iron phosphate, and solve the product safety and rare metal neck problem, for China’s battery and new energy vehicles to contribute to the sustainable development.
CTB(Cell to Body)
In 2022, BYD launched CTB (Cell to Body) battery-body integration technology to promote the full evolution of e-platform 3.0 in terms of safety, maneuverability, and comfort. CTB technology is based on CTP, integrating the body with the battery system, evolving from the battery sandwich structure of CTP to the whole vehicle sandwich structure of CTB, simplifying the structure of the body and the production process. CTB technology is a subversive change to the traditional body design, supported by the intrinsic safety of the blade battery, the battery safety and structural strength is greatly improved, so that the battery no longer need to sacrifice other performance indicators, releasing the vehicle performance design to play space, significantly improving vehicle safety, handling and comfort, breaking the shackles of the expansion of the performance of electric vehicles.
Easy Four-square
Easysquare technology platform is a set of four-motor independent drive as the core of the power system, from the perception, control, execution of the three dimensions around the characteristics of new energy vehicles for a comprehensive reconstruction, completely subvert the previous fuel vehicle power system capability system. In terms of perception, Easysquare takes the lead in giving full play to the powerful perception capability of wheel-side motors, realizing uninterrupted all-round perception of the vehicle’s motion state, and combining intelligent driving sensing data such as camera, LIDAR, millimeter wave radar, etc., so as to provide a perception data basis for the subsequent decision-making and execution links. In the control link, Easysquare technology platform carries a highly synergistic electronic and electrical architecture of central computing platform + domain control architecture. Through high bandwidth, low latency, and high security vehicle Ethernet, the central controller and each domain control can interoperate with each other in real time to realize precise and diversified control of the four motors through a high degree of synergy between the controllers and sensors. At the execution level, the four wheel-side motors equipped on the Easysquare technology platform are able to realize pure four-wheel independent drive and independently and accurately control the power of the four wheels according to the needs of driving scenarios. The comprehensive innovation of the three major links of perception, control and execution enables Easysquare to have three core control technologies: four-motor independent control, extreme anti-skid control and body stability control, thus creating richer driving possibilities.
DM Technology
DM technology (Dual Mode technology) is the abbreviation of BYD Dual Mode Plug-in Hybrid technology, which is a pioneering plug-in hybrid technology. After more than 10 years of experience accumulation and continuous technological upgrades, BYD has created a dual mode hybrid technology platform with equally outstanding power performance and economic performance.
