Exterior Design

The Chery Tiggo 7L continues the brand’s “Natural Force Aesthetics” design language, featuring an overall style that is dignified and imposing, catering to the tastes of family-oriented buyers. The front fascia features a V-shaped blacked-out grille accented by multiple chrome trim strips, creating a focused visual center of gravity. The split LED headlight clusters on either side, paired with boomerang-style daytime running lights, offer high visual recognition. Air ducts have been added to the fog light area, which helps optimize aerodynamics and heat dissipation.

The side profile features a hidden D-pillar and semi-hidden door handles, with clean, flowing lines that help reduce drag. With a body length of 4,655 mm and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm—placing it in the upper-middle range among compact SUVs—it meets the space requirements for daily family commuting and short-distance travel. The 235/55 R19 tires enhance both grip and visual appeal. The rear features new wave-shaped full-width taillights, with a black trim panel connecting the left and right light clusters. When illuminated, the effect is striking, and the overall design aligns more closely with current mainstream trends.

Interior Design

The interior of the Chery Tiggo 7L also offers plenty of highlights. The cabin features a wraparound layout, with extensive soft-touch materials enhancing the overall quality of the interior. The centerpiece is a 15.6-inch center console screen that slides left and right. Powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 8155 chip, the screen can move horizontally along a rail; when slid to the front of the passenger seat, it serves as an entertainment screen, balancing the driver’s control needs with the passenger’s entertainment requirements. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with a zero-gravity front passenger seat, and the front seats support heating, ventilation, and massage functions—comfort features that are relatively rare in this price range. The cabin also features a wireless charging pad and 256-color ambient lighting, further enhancing the tech-forward atmosphere and sense of luxury.

Powertrain

The Chery Tiggo 7L is powered by Chery’s classic 1.6T turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum power output of 147 kW and peak torque of 290 N·m, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. This powertrain is proven and reliable, offering smooth power delivery and adequate mid-range acceleration, with low maintenance costs, making it suitable for family users prioritizing stability and durability. However, its shortcomings in the powertrain department are equally evident: the new model is available only as a gasoline-only version, with no hybrid or plug-in hybrid options. In an era where hybrid technology is becoming widespread, its fuel economy is not competitive, and long-term ownership costs are relatively high. The suspension continues to use a front MacPherson strut and rear multi-link independent setup, tuned for comfort. While it does a decent job of damping vibrations for daily commuting, it lacks sufficient support during high-speed cornering and spirited driving, resulting in noticeable body roll.
