The Leapmotor A10 shows up as a small electric SUV built on a fresh platform the company calls the A-series architecture, and it’s the sort of car that looks a class above the badge once you’re standing next to it — which is, frankly, the entire trick. China took delivery first in spring 2026, the wider world meets it under the B03X name, and because the whole thing was drawn to satisfy global regulations from the start, what rolls off the ship isn’t a lightly reworked domestic special. Five seats, flat floor, more glass and screen than the price tag hints at, and the specs follow the same instinct.
Exterior
Squat and wide for its length, with short overhangs and a floating roofline that does most of the visual work. Up front those “smiling” LED lamps wrap into the body, a trapezoidal lower intake sits below them, and round the back you get the so-called Haha tail lights — a full-width bar that’ll read as either cheerful or silly depending on who you ask, and I’d let the customer decide that one. Semi-hidden door handles, contrasting fender cladding and 18-inch wheels finish the side view, and the whole thing rides on the Tech Natural Aesthetics 2.0 language Leapmotor is rolling out across the range.
Dimensions, since that’s the first thing anyone asks: 4,270 mm nose to tail, 1,810 wide, 1,635 tall, on a 2,605 mm wheelbase — call it 4.27 metres long with a 2.6-metre stretch between the axles, which is what gives the cabin its surprising room. Six colours at launch, running from Seaweed Green and Acorn Brown through Berry Blue, Tundra Gray, Galaxy Silver to Morgan Pink, so there’s a shade for the cautious buyer and one for the person who wants the car park to know they’ve arrived. A panoramic glass roof covers about 1.55 square metres and Leapmotor claims 99.9% UV filtering, which sounds like a spec-sheet flourish until you park it under a summer sun and feel the difference.
Interior
Calmer in here than the boxy outside would have you expect. That 14.6-inch 2.5K screen floats above the dash with an 8.88-inch digital cluster tucked behind the wheel, Qualcomm’s SA8295 does the processing so nothing lags, the Qwen voice assistant is built in, and — the bit I’d actually point out to a customer — a floating IP bar sits below the screen where you can clip on a fragrance dispenser, ambient lighting or even a small safety hammer. Try selling a touchscreen to someone who parks near the sea and you’ll see why that little bar counts.
Soft-touch material covers roughly 2.63 square metres of the cabin, a lot more than you’d find in rivals at this end of the market, and there are 34 storage spots dotted around plus a dual-layer boot. Cargo runs from 602 litres with the bench up to 1,549 once it folds, and there’s a 106-litre washable well under the floor for wet gear — the kind of detail that reads as minor until a customer actually lives with it for a winter. Heated front seats and a heated wheel come along for the ride.
Powertrain and Chassis
Battery and nothing else — the Leapmotor A10 has no engine, no generator, nothing to fill up.
It arrives as a single front motor with two outputs: 70 kW, or 94 hp, and a stronger 90 kW rated 121 hp, both making 150 Nm and both turning the front axle. Energy comes from an LFP pack in 39.8 kWh or 53 kWh sizes, the bigger one good for 505 km on CLTC while the smaller settles at 403; call the larger figure roughly 380 to 400 on WLTP and you’re in the right neighbourhood, though we’d quote WLTP wherever that’s the local test because CLTC always reads optimistic. Top speed lands at 160 km/h, which is plenty for what this car is.
Charging is where it quietly impresses — 30 to 80% in about 16 minutes on a fast charger, quick enough that a coffee stop genuinely covers it rather than the other way round. The big battery is the one to take if your market does long motorway runs; the small one makes more sense for a city where nobody drives that far anyway.
Up front there are MacPherson struts, and Leapmotor’s CTC 2.0 Plus packs the cells into the structure for an 88.1% space rate, with 2,000 MPa hot-formed steel in the key crash zones and a full set of airbags watching over the cabin. The headline tech is the roof-mounted LiDAR on upper trims, paired with a Qualcomm SA8650 chip for park-to-park assistance — City NAP, highway navigation, memory parking, the lot — while the lower cars get a solid Level 2 suite that’s honestly all most commuters will switch on.
FAQ
Is the Leapmotor A10 a pure electric car or a range extender? Pure electric, full stop — a BEV, so one battery, one front motor, nothing burning fuel anywhere. Leapmotor does sell range-extender versions of bigger cars like the C11, but this one was built battery-only from the start, and that’s worth stating plainly because the A-series name gets mixed up with those extended-range models.
How far does it go, and how long does charging take? CLTC gives 403 km on the 39.8 kWh pack and 505 on the 53 kWh, but WLTP pulls both down and we’d quote closer to 380 to 400 km for the larger battery where WLTP is the local figure. Charging runs 30 to 80% in about 16 minutes on DC, which is the number to put in front of a customer who worries about road trips.
Why is it called A10 in China but B03X overseas? Same car, different lettering on the tailgate. Leapmotor sells it as the A10 at home and as the B03X everywhere else, and the change is a naming decision rather than a mechanical one — body, battery and part numbers carry over untouched. The A10 launched in China in spring 2026 and the B03X rolls out to overseas markets through 2026, though exactly when each country gets stock depends on local certification, so it’s worth confirming your market before you promise a customer a delivery date. Export versions carry the B03X badge and their published numbers follow the local test cycle, with some market-specific tuning — European B03X figures, for instance, are rated on WLTP rather than CLTC.
