The front design of the Volvo EX30 perfectly illustrates the brand’s minimalist design philosophy of “less is more”. The closed grille and the iconic “Thor’s Hammer” headlamps form a highly recognizable feature. The internal structure of the headlamps has been carefully designed, adopting full LED light source, and the daytime running lamps show a unique hammer-shaped light band, which has a shocking visual effect when lit at night. The grille area features a large black closed panel with a refined textured surface and a central inlay of the Volvo logo, highlighting the pure electric identity. The lower air intakes have been aerodynamically optimized to effectively reduce wind resistance to 0.34Cd, and the Cross Country version even adds silver guards and black anti-scratch strips to the front surround, reinforcing the off-road atmosphere. The entire front line is clean and sharp, with no unnecessary decorative elements, creating a rich light and shadow effect through changes in the shape of the surface, reflecting the pursuit of a balance between functionality and aesthetics in Scandinavian design.

Looking at the side part of the new car, Volvo EX30’s side of the body shows the typical proportion of small SUV, length, width and height are 4233 x 1838 x 1555mm (normal version), Cross Country version height increased to 1573mm. 2650mm wheelbase in the same class is quite advantageous, laying the foundation for the space inside the car. The side lines are simple and powerful, with a high waistline extending from the front wheel arches to the taillights, which, together with the sunken roofline, creates a coupe SUV-like dynamic stance. The two-tone body design creates a floating visual effect through the blacked-out A-pillars, B-pillars and roof, which is fashionable, and the Cross Country version especially adds black anti-scratch guards at the front and rear wheelbars, and the ground clearance on the side of the car has been raised to enhance outdoor passability. The rearview mirror adopts a narrow-rim design, effectively expanding the field of vision and improving driving safety. The wheels are available in 18-inch and 19-inch sizes, and the two-tone cutting process is matched with low-rolling resistance tires, taking into account the visual effect and energy efficiency performance.

Looking at the rear part, the rear part is another highlight of the EX30 design language. The “Viking Tomahawk” taillights adopt the new C-shaped + vertical combination design, and the interior consists of multiple LED light pillars, which are highly recognizable when lit. The taillights are connected by a black decorative panel with VOLVO etched on it, stretching the visual width. The tailgate is full and three-dimensional, and the use of horizontal lines enhances the sense of hierarchy. The design of the rear bumper is simple and generous, and the Cross Country version adds a matte black penetration trim and a silver guard plate, echoing the outdoor style of the entire car. It is worth mentioning that the EX30 has eliminated the traditional exhaust pipe design, and the rear surround is more neat and tidy, highlighting the pure electric identity.

Interior Design

Entering the interior, the style of the overseas version will be continued. For reference, the interior design of the overseas version of the Volvo EX30 CC is relatively simple, equipped with a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel and a pocket shift mechanism, and a vertically laid out screen in the center console. The center console has a vertical layout, and the 12.3-inch touchscreen integrates most of the functional operations. In terms of interior materials, Volvo insists on using environmentally friendly materials, including Nordico vegetal leather, natural linen, recycled polyester fiber, etc., to create a healthy and odorless interior environment. A variety of themed color schemes and ambient lighting can be automatically switched according to the driving mode, making for an excellent personalized experience. In terms of space performance, although the EX30 is positioned as a small SUV, the 2650mm wheelbase ensures good rear legroom. Rear headroom is optimized by the concave design of the roof, so even a 180cm tall passenger will not feel depressed.

Power

The Volvo EX30 CC is powered by a dual front and rear motor system, with the front motor producing 115 kW and the rear motor producing 200 kW. As for the battery, the car is equipped with a lithium ternary battery pack with a capacity of 66 kWh and a range of 530 kilometers. The driver assistance system reaches L2 level, including adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, automatic emergency braking, etc. 360-degree panoramic image and transparent chassis technology make parking and off-roading easier. The proportion of high-strength steel used in the whole vehicle exceeds 70%, and it is equipped with 7 airbags, so the safety performance is as outstanding as ever.
