Exterior Design

The front fascia of the Volvo EX90 features a closed-off grille—a common design element in all-electric vehicles—complemented by “Thor’s Hammer” headlights formed by an arrangement of multiple light clusters. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive Plus model comes with LED headlights, while the dual-motor all-wheel-drive high-performance Ultra model is upgraded to high-definition pixel headlights.

The rear of the Volvo EX90 features a boxy design with split “Viking Axe” taillights; when illuminated, the lower section forms a “C” shape. The entire lineup comes standard with a luxury exterior package, power-folding exterior mirrors with power adjustment, memory, and heating, driver-side automatic anti-glare, sequential dynamic taillights, a dimmable panoramic sunroof, double-layered sound-insulating glass, privacy glass for the rear windshield and rear side windows, and a sensor-activated power tailgate.

The Volvo EX90 measures 5037 × 1964 × 1742 mm with a wheelbase of 2985 mm. It is available with an all-wheel-drive powertrain; the high-power version features dual motors rated at 220 kW (front) and 280 kW (rear), while the low-power version features motors rated at 130 kW (front) and 200 kW (rear). The Volvo EX90 comes standard with 265/45 R21 front and 295/40 R21 rear tires, Brembo four-piston front brake calipers, and 21-inch eight-spoke aerodynamic wheels. The Ultra trim also offers optional 22-inch five-spoke aerodynamic wheels or 22-inch five-spoke forged aluminum wheels.

Interior Design

The Volvo EX90 features a horizontal dashboard layout, adorned with a starry sky-effect ash wood trim panel and backlit ambient lighting. The dashboard is equipped with a 9-inch rectangular digital instrument cluster and a vertically oriented 14.5-inch central touchscreen.

The vehicle also features a column-mounted gear selector. The center console includes a wireless phone charging compartment, two cup holders, and a music control knob. Standard interior features include a HUD (Head-Up Display), the Bowers & Wilkin premium sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity, an electrically adjustable steering wheel, and heated steering wheel.

Powertrain

The Volvo EX90 is powered by Volvo’s in-house third-generation electric drivetrain, which balances power output with energy efficiency. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive version delivers a maximum power output of 500 kW, with power delivery emphasizing linear and smooth acceleration to avoid an aggressive or abrupt driving experience. The braking and chassis configurations prioritize reliability and handling balance.
