Established on January 24, 2022, LIVAN Auto, a brand-new mobility focused brand under Geely Auto Group, boasts independent R&D capability, intelligent manufacturing, global supply chains and innovative marketing, service, and operations. LIVAN Auto aims to provide solutions to the new energy market through continuous OTA updates to its vehicle, cloud technology, continuous optimization of business models, and creation of a battery-swapping ecology for electric passenger vehicles. The engineers of LIVAN Auto participated in the formulation of national and industrial battery-swapping standards. To date, it has put forth more than 30 battery-swapping standards and registered over 1,000 patents in the fields of “battery-swapping architecture, battery-swapping station, and battery-swapping vehicles”.
Battery-swapping from LIVAN Auto injects new vitality into the new energy market and offers more choices to consumers. Following the brand core value of “letting users enjoy the battery-swapping technology and exploring the infinite possibilities of life”, LIVAN Auto aims to create a more convenient EV experience through battery swapping and bring users into an era of easy and free travel.

GBRC Crystal Architecture (Vehicle-Station-Cloud Trinity)
GBRC (Global Battery Rapid Change) Crystal Architecture independently developed by Livan is the industry’s first all-around technology architecture covering the whole vehicle, power exchange and cloud platform for big data. The architecture adopts the overall chassis design of power exchange, compatible with cars, SUVs, MPVs and other models, supporting front-drive, rear-drive and four-wheel-drive layouts, with a body length of 4,250-4,850mm and a wheelbase of 2,700-3,100mm, and the core of which lies in the realization of intelligent collaboration between human-vehicle and power exchange station through the big data cloud platform, e.g., the user can book a power exchange appointment through the App and check the health status of the battery in real time. For example, users can book a power exchange through the App and check the health status of the battery in real time, while the power exchange station optimizes the battery scheduling and charging strategy according to the cloud data. The architecture also integrates a super heat pump system, which can still work efficiently at temperatures as low as -30°C, ensuring that the experience of replenishment is close to the efficiency of fuel vehicle refueling.
40-Second Extreme Power Exchange and Capsule Battery Technology
Livan’s power exchange technology realizes 40 seconds of high-speed power exchange through its self-developed quick-exchange lock body (with a load capacity of more than 4 tons) and IP68-rated waterproof electrical connectors, with a speed far exceeding the industry average. Its original capsule battery adopts a standardized design, with a capacity covering 50-100kWh, an energy density of 160Wh/kg, a cycle life of more than 3,000 times, and has passed more than 30 harsh safety tests (such as bottom ball strike and heat diffusion), far exceeding the requirements of the national standard. Users can flexibly choose the battery capacity like choosing the amount of gasoline, for example, Livan 7 supports CLTC range of 550-750km, and can upgrade the battery pack with technological progress.
Second-generation Intelligent Power Exchange Station and Ecological Network
The Livan power exchange station is operated by Geely’s Yi Yi Call Energy, with a daily service capacity of over 300 times for single-bay stations and 600 times for double-bay stations, which is a 50% increase in efficiency compared to the first generation. The station adopts a modularized design, is equipped with a three-level fire protection system and remote control functions, and supports battery health testing and laddering utilization. For example, 84 power stations have been built in Chongqing, and users do not need to get out of the car during the whole process of power exchange; the system automatically completes vehicle positioning, battery removal and installation. In the future, we will also launch a mini power station, which occupies only 1-2 parking spaces and can be flexibly deployed in 4S stores, parking lots and other scenarios.
Standard and Patent System for Power Exchange
Livan has been deeply involved in the development of national and industry standards for power exchange, and has released more than 30 standards (such as battery interface and communication protocol), and owns more than 1,000 patents covering core components such as quick-change locks and watertight connectors. Its technical team has verified the reliability of power exchange through more than 30,000 experiments, for example, the number of quick-change insertions and extractions is more than 10,000 times, and the durability of the mechanical structure is more than 10 years. These standards and patents have supported Livan’s rapid expansion in the B-end (e.g., net car) and C-end markets. For example, Livan 7 has lowered the threshold of purchase to 85,700 yuan through its battery rental program (monthly rental of 499 yuan including 4 free power swaps), while solving the user’s anxiety about battery degradation.
