Exterior Design
The Audi A4L retains the Audi family’s classic hexagonal grille design, but with this facelift, the addition of a blacked-out exterior package has significantly enhanced the car’s sporty appeal. Even the entry-level model offers an optional blacked-out honeycomb grille, The grille frame and surrounding trim have all been replaced with piano black finish. Compared to the previous model’s chrome design, this style is younger and sportier, better aligning with the aesthetic preferences of today’s consumers. The headlight assembly remains one of Audi’s strengths. The entire lineup comes standard with matrix LED headlights, featuring adaptive high and low beams, automatic steering-based adjustment, and a delayed shut-off function. The internal lighting elements are artfully arranged, offering high visual recognition when illuminated. They provide a wide illumination range and uniform brightness during nighttime driving, giving the driver a strong sense of security. The front bumper retains the air intake design of the S-line sport package, which not only optimizes aerodynamic performance but also gives the front end a sharper, more aggressive profile.
Moving to the side profile, the vehicle’s dimensions remain at 4858×1847×1439mm, with a wheelbase of 2908mm. The long-wheelbase configuration is a core advantage of the Chinese-market A4L, and its wheelbase rivals that of leading competitors in the same class. The side character line is segmented: the upper line runs smoothly across the door handles, while the lower line is recessed and taut, with raised side skirts creating a dynamic, forward-leaning stance; The window frames and exterior mirror housings are all blacked out, creating a unified “Black Knight” aesthetic. The Luxury Dynamic Edition is equipped with 18-inch blade-style multi-spoke aluminum alloy wheels with 245/40 R18 tires; the moderate tire width balances urban ride comfort and high-speed grip, while the Starry Night Edition offers optional 19-inch wheels. The hidden door handles feature uniform gaps, and the doors have an excellent sense of solidity. The roofline slopes gently downward from the C-pillar, avoiding the issue of rear-seat headroom constraints caused by an overly steep fastback design.
Moving to the rear, the Audi A4L adopts a clean, sporty design. The all-new LED taillight cluster echoes the front headlights, featuring a segmented light chamber structure that creates an exceptionally refined “flowing light” effect when illuminated at night, offering high visual recognition. The dual single-outlet exhaust system features a concealed design. While it retains a genuine exhaust configuration, it does not appear jarring when viewed from the rear, resulting in a cleaner, more streamlined overall appearance that aligns with the minimalist aesthetic of a luxury brand. The trunk offers a standard capacity of 424L with a very well-organized interior layout, easily accommodating three carry-on suitcases for daily use. The rear seats can be folded down in a 4/6 split, expanding the cargo space to nearly 1,700L.
Interior Design
The Audi A4L’s interior continues the classic layout of the Audi Virtual Cockpit. At the heart of the cabin is a 12.3-inch fully digital virtual instrument cluster paired with a 10.1-inch floating center display. The instrument cluster offers three display themes, and navigation can be projected in full-screen mode. The center console features Audi’s native infotainment system, supporting wireless CarPlay and OTA (over-the-air) updates, while retaining physical climate control buttons for safer operation without taking your eyes off the road during highway driving. The seats are upholstered in genuine leather. The luxurious and sporty front seats come standard with heating, and the driver’s seat features multi-directional power adjustment. The side bolsters provide moderate support, balancing comfort for family use with the secure hold needed for spirited short-distance driving. Thanks to the 2908mm long wheelbase, a 175cm-tall passenger in the front has more than a fist’s worth of headroom, while rear passengers enjoy two fists’ worth of legroom. The floor is nearly flat, so the middle passenger has ample footroom, and even with three adults on board, there is no feeling of crowding.
Powertrain
The entire Audi A4L lineup is equipped with the EA888-DTG 2.0T turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum power output of 140 kW (190 horsepower) and peak torque of 320 N·m. It is paired with a 7-speed S-tronic wet dual-clutch transmission and comes standard with a 12V mild-hybrid system, which optimizes the smoothness of start-stop operation. The chassis features a front five-link and rear five-link independent suspension—a mainstream hardware configuration among luxury sedans in this class.
