Exterior Design
Beijing BJ60 still maintains the hardcore design of the family model, but because the price is positioned in the 200-300,000 yuan market, the style is no longer purely hardcore, adding a streamlined design. The new car’s centre mesh adopts a five-hole design and wraps the headlight cluster perfectly into the design of the centre mesh, and the fog lamps in the lower part of the car, also cater to the theme of the centre mesh. The new car will be equipped with a welcome mode and intelligent interactive light language.
The side of the body, very reminiscent of the Prado, although the car is no longer sold in China, but the BJ60 reinvented the classic, including the tail of the ‘schoolbag’ spare wheel. Vehicle dimensions, its length, width and height were 5040/1955/1925mm, wheelbase of 2820mm, positioning a medium-large SUV. the whole car looks very large, approach angle of 30 degrees, departure angle of 24 degrees, fully loaded minimum ground clearance of 215mm, the maximum wading depth of 750mm, equipped with 18- or 20-inch wheels, AT tyres are also available.
The rear of the vehicle, the tail lamps look like déjà vu, similar to the design of the family model, the rear bumper chrome decoration shows a high-grade texture, the tail is a classic external spare wheel, while the tailgate uses a side-opening type, which is convenient to a certain extent for the opening of the rear tailgate.
Interior Design
Compared with previous models, the interior of the BJ60 pays more attention to comfort, retaining a certain hardcore style, but through a variety of decorative elements to weaken the hard design. For example, the centre console incorporates an artistically rich mountain peak pattern with a piano baking paint background, while a large amount of leather wrapping is also used on the centre console surface.
The floating centre control screen measures 12.8 inches and includes a number of functions such as panoramic image, transparent chassis, car recorder, WeChat, and applets, while the full LCD instrument cluster measures 10.25 inches and boasts a streaming rear-view mirror.
In terms of comfort features, the car comes with a heated steering wheel, a main driver’s seat with leg rests and seat memory, front seats with 12-way electric adjustment, heating, ventilation and massage, and aero headrests. The rear seats will also be ventilated, heated and massaged, and the interior will be equipped with ambient lighting in 256 colours, laminated glass in the front, and a 12-speaker audio system with an external amplifier under the brand name of Yanfaris.
Powertrain
The car is powered by a light hybrid system consisting of a 2.0T engine + 48V motor with a maximum power of 196 kW and a maximum torque of 406 Nm. It comes with an 85L fuel tank and has a 35L sub-tank refill position. The transmission system will be matched with an 8-speed manual gearbox, equipped with a time-sharing four-wheel drive system, which can be electronically switched to 2H, 4H and 4L modes, and the ATS all-terrain system supports the selection of nine driving modes. In addition, the new car also adopts a non-load-bearing body and is equipped with three locks, front, centre and rear, in which the splitter can torque amplification by 2.54 times.
