Exterior Design
The Buick LaCrosse retains iconic design elements such as the brand’s signature L-shaped headlights, large trapezoidal front grille, and full-width taillights. The Avenir trim features exclusive design details, including unique wavy grille trim, 19-inch turbine-style aluminum alloy wheels, and Avenir badging throughout the vehicle. The paint color options have been updated, with Pearl White replacing the previous Jade White; the Avenir model additionally offers the exclusive Imperial Blue color.
The Buick LaCrosse’s front fascia retains its striking visual impact, with the large trapezoidal grille serving as the most prominent feature of the front end. The Avenir version features wavy trim strips, distinguishing it from the standard model’s horizontal chrome strips. The matrix-style full-LED headlights not only provide excellent illumination but also feature adaptive high and low beam functionality. According to official data, the Avenir model’s “Wing Light Trail” LED adaptive matrix headlights have 15 independent lighting zones and support nine intelligent lighting modes. The chrome trim on the inner side of the bumper enhances the front end’s sophistication, creating an overall “shark nose” silhouette that is both dignified and dynamic.
Viewed from the side, the Buick LaCrosse features a sleek and flowing silhouette. Its fastback design, paired with a subtly upturned “ducktail” spoiler, infuses a touch of dynamism into its business-oriented, dignified stance. The window lines harmonize with the body proportions, and the rear seats come standard with privacy glass, which not only protects passenger privacy but also enhances the vehicle’s overall sense of luxury. In terms of dimensions, the 28T Platinum Edition measures 4,996 × 1,866 × 1,472 mm, while the Avenir Edition measures 4,996 × 1,866 × 1,475 mm; both share a wheelbase of 2,905 mm. Compared to competitors in its class, the LaCrosse maintains a clear advantage in overall length. The wheel configurations are distinctly different: the Platinum Edition is equipped with 18-inch gunmetal-gray wheels featuring a new machined finish, while the Avenir Edition comes with 19-inch turbine-style aluminum alloy wheels fitted with 245/45 R19 Bridgestone Turanza self-sealing tires.
At the rear, the Buick LaCrosse retains its full-width taillight design. The internal lighting units are exquisitely crafted, forming an “L” shape on both sides, which offers excellent visual recognition when illuminated. A horizontal chrome trim strip adorns the area below the taillights, echoing the chrome accents on the lower bumper and adding a sense of depth. Although the dual-exhaust layout is purely decorative, it lends the vehicle a touch of sportiness. The Avenir model’s taillights feature a dynamic welcome function; a 1.7-meter-long “Dragon Scale Wings” light effect dynamically unfolds upon unlocking, creating a truly ceremonial experience.
Interior Design
The Buick LaCrosse’s interior layout largely carries over from the previous generation, but the sense of luxury has been enhanced through upgrades in materials and color schemes. The most eye-catching feature is the 30-inch seamless floating curved display, which boasts 6K resolution and delivers a crisp, detailed image. The column-mounted gearshift design frees up space on the center console, while the dual-layer floating sub-dashboard offers additional storage options.
The Buick LaCrosse is equipped with the eCruise Pro intelligent driving assistance system, which achieves Level 2 autonomy. The system includes 14 features such as full-speed adaptive cruise control, intelligent lane-centering assist, and automatic parking assist. Compared to the standard model, the Avenir trim offers more comprehensive safety features, including rear side airbags and a driver’s knee airbag. It is also equipped with a 360-degree surround-view camera and automatic parallel parking, which are particularly practical for a midsize sedan nearly 5 meters long. In real-world use, these features effectively reduce the driver’s workload during highway travel and during morning and evening rush hours in urban areas.
Powertrain
The Buick LaCrosse continues to be powered by the LSY-coded 2.0T variable-cylinder turbocharged engine, delivering a maximum power output of 174 kilowatts (237 horsepower) and peak torque of 350 Newton-meters. Paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission with manual mode, the official 0–100 km/h acceleration time is 7.2 seconds. This engine features intelligent cylinder deactivation technology, which can switch between three modes—four-cylinder high-performance, four-cylinder economy, and two-cylinder ultra-economy—under different driving conditions, balancing power and fuel efficiency. The WLTC combined fuel consumption is 7.13 liters per 100 kilometers (Avenir trim).
