The BYD Song PLUS DM-i is a compact hybrid SUV from BYD that features BYD’s latest DM-i hybrid technology. The vehicle was launched on March 25, 2021, and officially announced at the “New Energy Night” press conference held in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in November 2022.1 On February 29, 2024, the BYD Song PLUS DM-i Glory Edition was officially launched.
Exterior Design
The Exterior design of the Song PLUS DM-i is built on the basis of the Song Plus fuel version, with the front two parts replaced with the latest BYD DM family style. The flat and wide grille is filled with a dense horizontal dot-matrix center mesh, and above it, there are thick decorative strips connecting the sharp LED headlight clusters on the left and right sides. Front bumper part of the two sides of the fog lamp area also has a very three-dimensional sense of depression near the air intake decoration, the whole front face looks more sporty.1 In the side of the body, the new car still retains the Song Plus model is very characteristic of the small sliding back coupe-style lines, sporty style with angular detail design looks unique.1.
Interior design
The interior of the Song PLUS DM-i features a light color scheme, or in the case of the 4WD version, a darker color scheme. The full LCD instrument cluster provides a nice visual effect. The seats are leather-wrapped and the main driver’s seat is adjustable in a motorized manner. The rear seats come with three individual headrests as well as a center armrest box and two USB ports in the back.
Performance
Song PLUS DM-i is equipped with a 1.5L engine + electric motor combination, the maximum torque of the electric motor is 325Nm, and the maximum torque of the engine is 135Nm. The pure electric range can reach 110KM, and the acceleration time of 100km is 7.9 seconds. The extremely low fuel consumption under most common working conditions, as well as the policy bonus of a green license plate, has attracted many potential customers.
Configuration
The new car will come standard with a 12.8-inch rotatable center control screen, DiLink 3.0 system, in-car Bluetooth, 9-piece hi-fi, OTA remote upgrade, rear seat angle adjustment, power-folding exterior mirrors, electrically-heated and defrosted exterior mirrors, locking automatic window closure/sunroof closure, keyless entry, keyless start, NFC key for cell phones, rear privacy glass, mute glass, and 360ยฐ HD holographic transparent image, etc.
