I first saw the VX C-DM in a dealer yard in Shenzhen, parked between two Camrys. Honestly? It held its own — and that’s saying something, because it’s a big vehicle. A hefty crossover, no question: 5,010 mm long, 1,940 wide, 1,800 tall, on a 2,900 mm wheelbase. That plants it right in the large family-SUV set with the Highlander and the CX-90. Up front, a big chrome-trimmed grille. Round the back, vertical taillights with a slim LED strip tying them together. Flat roof, low beltline — so it reads premium, a little wagon-ish. Presence, no flash.

And worth telling distributors: this is the electrified take on the established Exeed VX — called Lanyue back home — a nameplate already running in places like the Middle East and Iran. That history lowers the launch hurdle, because the service networks and parts channels might already be there. The 245/45 R20 wheels and all that glass give it a planted, solid stance on the lot. Which, honestly, matters more than people expect.

Interior

Inside, this thing is built to move people. Six or seven seats. The six-seat version drops two captain chairs in the second row — heated, vented, massaging — a proper executive middle. The dash is a three-screen wall that’ll make you think MBUX Hyperscreen: two 12.3-inch panels either side of a 15.6-inch central display. Techy, integrated, photographs beautifully.

Practicality’s strong for something this size. Three rows you can actually use, storage everywhere, a quiet cabin thanks to two-layer glass up front — and at the back on higher trims. Powertrain and Chassis

A 1.5-litre turbo making 115 kW, bolted to a three-speed DHT that carries a 165 kW front motor, plus a 175 kW rear motor on the axle. Add them up: 455 kW — call it 610 hp — and 920 Nm. Enough to fire this big SUV to 100 in around 5 seconds. AWD is electric, run by those two motors. Look, that’s quick for a thing this size.

The CATL pack gives roughly 180 km of CLTC electric range, and the 70-litre tank stretches the combined figure to about 1,300 km.
