The Mercedes-Benz EQS is more than just a car; it is Mercedes-Benz’s new interpretation of the future of electric luxury vehicles. As the brand’s full-size luxury all-electric sedan, the EQS represents Mercedes-Benz’s highest achievement in electrification, intelligence and design aesthetics.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of the EQS blends streamlining and futurism, revealing a static and dynamic aesthetic. The body adopts a unique bow-shaped design, which, together with the front cockpit layout and seamless bodywork, creates an ultra-low wind resistance coefficient of 0.20Cd, once again rewriting the world record. With a length of more than 5.2 meters and a wheelbase of more than 3.2 meters, the EQS, on top of its huge body dimensions, not only allows for more space inside the car through the clever matching of a large number of curves, but also gives the spacious body appearance both dynamism and elegance.
Interior Design
In terms of interior design, EQS also demonstrates Mercedes-Benz’s deep understanding of the concept of luxury. 1.41-meter-long MBUX screen runs from the main driver to the passenger side, embedded under a block of curved glass, equipped with Xavier chip, 8-core CPU, 24GB storage, 46.4GB/s memory bandwidth, built-in 12 sensors, and touch control brings sound and vibration feedback, which makes the human-computer interaction more comfortable. The interior is also equipped with a Burmesterยฎ surround sound audio system and 64-color active ambient lighting to create a dreamy cabin atmosphere.
Performance
In terms of performance, EQS is not to be underestimated. Equipped with dual permanent magnet synchronous motors at the front and rear, it has a peak power of 380 kW and accelerates to 100 km in as low as 4.4 seconds. Combined with the intelligent time-controlled four-wheel drive system, it makes power and comfort compatible with each other. With a total battery capacity of 111.8 kWh and a combined power consumption of 14.6 kWh over 100 kilometers, the CLTC has a pure electric range of up to 813 kilometers. Combined with 145 kW DC charging, it can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in as little as 37 minutes.
Configuration
The configuration of the EQS also reflects Mercedes-Benz’s comprehensive thinking about the future of automobiles. In addition to the aforementioned MBUX Hyperlink Screen and Intelligent Digital Headlamps, the EQS is equipped with the L2-level Intelligent Driver Assistance System, which combines Intelligent Pilot Distance Limit, Active Blind Spot Assist, Intelligent Pilot Steering, and Active Lane Keeping Assist. In addition, advanced configurations such as Active Rear Wheel Steering and AIRMATIC Air Suspension are providing drivers with a more comfortable and safer driving experience.
