Exterior Design
The Mercedes Benz GLC EV features a retro shield-style grille inspired by a classic 1900 design. Its 942 illuminated, interactive backlit units, combined with the illuminated three-pointed star emblem, display different breathing effects when the vehicle is unlocked or charging. The front end is equipped with all-new LED digital headlights. Positioned beneath the three-pointed star emblem, these headlights support practical features such as adaptive high and low beams and automatic activation, further enhancing driving safety and a sense of luxury. Notably, the new model features a 128L front trunk that can flexibly accommodate items such as carry-on luggage, balancing practicality with convenience.
In terms of body dimensions and interior space, the new model has been specifically optimized to meet Chinese consumers’ demand for spacious interiors. With dimensions of 4949/1970/1710 mm (length/width/height) and a wheelbase of 3027 mm, it features a wheelbase 55 mm longer and an overall length 104 mm longer than the overseas version. This significantly increases interior passenger space, particularly with a notable expansion of rear legroom, delivering a more comfortable riding experience. The side profile features smooth, flowing lines and is equipped with hidden door handles, effectively reducing the drag coefficient.
The rear of the vehicle features a new star-emblem taillight design, with the taillight clusters echoing the shape of the headlights. When illuminated, they offer maximum visual recognition. Paired with a minimalist yet elegant rear bumper design, the overall appearance exudes a sense of calm elegance without sacrificing dynamism. Additionally, the new model offers a variety of wheel designs to choose from. The new model introduces three all-new exterior colors—Purple Dawn Silver, Mist Blue, and Jet Black Gray—which, when paired with the vehicle’s various body styles, cater to consumers’ individual aesthetic preferences.
Interior Design
The Mercedes Benz GLC EV continues the brand’s signature luxurious cabin design, seamlessly blending technological sophistication with comfort. The interior features 64-color ambient lighting and a massive 39.1-inch MBUX display—comprising a 14.4-inch center screen and a 12.3-inch passenger screen—powered by the all-new MB.OS in-car operating system and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip. This setup enables seamless multi-screen integration and voice interaction, introduces the new “Xiao Ben” virtual assistant, and supports continuous OTA updates, significantly enhancing the smart driving experience. Additionally, the new model is equipped with a head-up display (HUD) system that clearly projects key driving information—such as speed, navigation, and driver assistance—onto the windshield.
Powertrain
The Mercedes Benz GLC EV is equipped with dual permanent-magnet synchronous motors at the front and rear, delivering a combined power output of 310 kilowatts and peak torque of 800 Newton-meters. It features the eATS 2.0 electric drive system, which includes radial motors and a two-speed transmission system, providing powerful yet smooth power delivery for a rapid acceleration experience. The battery pack has a capacity of 89 kWh, offering a range exceeding 700 km under CLTC conditions, easily meeting the demands of both daily commuting and long-distance travel. The new model comes standard with an 800-volt high-voltage electrical architecture, supporting a peak charging power of 320 kilowatts, which allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 22 minutes.
