Exterior Design
With a length, width and height of 4705 x 1920 x 1705mm and a wheelbase of 2900mm, the Smart #5 adopts the “square box” concept for its exterior, which continues the design language of “Sensibility – Spirituality” of Mercedes-Benz’s global design team, blending the square lines of a hardcore off-roader with the rounded shape of an urban chic. It combines the square lines of hardcore off-road and the rounded shape of urban fashion.
The overall lines of the new car are simple and direct, but in the details there are colorful eggs that highlight the brand’s personality. For example, the black edge of the glass, the panda egg on the roof deck and side ladder, and the illuminated logo on the D-pillar.
In addition, the top model is also equipped with floating wheel markers, X-shaped painted roof platform, tail “small bag”, side ladder, hidden electric trailer hitch and other outdoor adventure equipment, with front and rear dual-motor four-wheel drive to achieve a certain degree of off-road capabilities. In order to enhance the playability, the new car is also car-grade full-color laser projector, portable speakers and other equipment.
Interior Design
Interior part, thanks to the boxy design, the new car has a relatively sizable 2900mm wheelbase, smart official said, the new car supports a single person nap, double large beds, multi-person lying and a variety of rest modes. In addition, Smart #5 trunk size 630L, can be expanded to a maximum of 1530L, in addition to the new car also has a 72L front trunk.
The Smart #5 offers five personalized style options for the interior design. In terms of details, the new car has similar design elements similar to Mercedes-Benz to add a sense of luxury, such as Italian Alpine oak veneer, 256-color ambient lighting, Sennheiser audio system, and suspended flying saucer lift speakers.
In terms of cockpit intelligence, the Smart #5 is powered by a desktop-class AMD V2000 chip with nearly twice the chip’s computing power of the Snapdragon 8295. In terms of smart driving, the Smart #5 hardware configuration is 2 Orin-X chips, 1 LIDAR and 36 high precision sensing hardware. However, it should be noted that all configurations except the top model require options.
Range
The Smart #5 utilizes an 800V pure electric high-voltage platform that supports 4C ultra-fast charging. Depending on the configuration, the new car is paired with two sizes of battery packs, 76kWh and 100kWh, with CLTC ranges of 570km, 740km and 580km (dual-motor 4WD models).
