Starling Safety Guard System

The Starling Safety Guard System built by GAC defines a new safety benchmark for intelligent vehicles by focusing on full-link R&D, full-area technology and full-time protection. Its collision safety standard far exceeds international norms, covering more than 60 working conditions (3-4 times of the industry standard), and verifies extreme scenarios in advance through the digital twin simulation system; at the level of full-area technology, it realizes dual-redundancy design for the eight major systems of positioning, sensing, and calculating, with a low failure rate as low as 1 FIT (1 billion hours of failure), which is 1,000 times higher than that of the aviation-level standard. In terms of active safety, the first rear windshield airbags and second-row frontal airbags form a 720° protection network, while battery safety realizes that the electric core will not catch fire with a 5-pin puncture and will not emit smoke with a 180° twist, and the cartridge battery quick-cooling technology will reduce the risk of thermal runaway to the lowest in the industry. The full-time cloud monitoring system guards 3,881 vehicle parameters in real time, avoiding nearly 5 million risks for users.

GSD Self-Driving System

As one of the first L3 autonomous driving pilot car companies in China, GAC’s GSD (GAC Self-Driving) High-order Intelligent Driving System integrates multi-sensors and AI decision-making to support high-speed and urban NDA (Navigation Assisted Driving). The system covers key modules such as sensing and braking through a “double-backup” redundancy design, with a response speed of 30 milliseconds (1/10 of the human response), and a 21% increase in the safe speed limit on icy and snowy roads. the country’s first L3 self-driving passenger car will be mass-produced in the fourth quarter of 2025, and it plans to launch a L4 model for individual users in 2027. L4 models for individual users are planned to be launched in 2027. The accumulation of technology comes from the 40 million kilometers of Robotaxi operation data that Ruqi Travel has cooperated with Pony Intelligence, providing massive scene verification for the intelligent driving algorithm.

Magazine Battery and Thermal Management Technology

GAC’s battery safety technology is centered on “high intrinsic safety”. Through the innovation of battery cell materials and structural optimization, the battery achieves 5-pin puncture without fire and 180° extreme torsion without thermal runaway. Magazine battery is the first to create quick cooling technology, which improves cooling efficiency by 100% compared with liquid cooling and reduces energy consumption by 22.5%; the low-temperature self-heating rate reaches 3℃/minute, which is suitable for -30℃ extreme cold environment. The thermal management system integrates EGR heat exchanger and intelligent solenoid valve to manage the heat of the battery and engine, reducing energy consumption by more than 15% in the whole temperature range. This technology has been applied to HaoPo HL and other models, and 1307 battery parameters are monitored in real time through the cloud platform, forming a full-cycle protection from “R&D to use”.

Vehicle-grade Chip Ecological Matrix

In order to break through the bottleneck of “lack of core”, GAC, together with ZTE Corporation and Yutai Microelectronics, has released 12 high-security vehicle-grade chips, covering power management, chassis control and other scenarios. For example, the G-P01 chip integrates multiple redundancy designs to meet the millisecond response requirements of intelligent chassis; the G-T03 power management chip has passed the AEC-Q100 certification, with leading high temperature resistance and anti-interference performance. At the same time, the company launched the “Automotive Chip Application Ecology Co-construction Program”, promoted the “One Core, Multiple Sources” supply chain strategy, and built a vehicle-chip linkage verification platform to accelerate the development of domestic chips from ‘automotive’ to “automotive-grade”. to “automotive-grade” leap.

Vantage Wave Hybrid Platform and Green Engine Technology

GAC’s self-developed Vantage Wave hybrid platform is based on the fourth-generation 2.0ATK engine with a thermal efficiency of 42.10% (a new domestic record), combined with the second-generation GMC electro-mechanical coupling system, and integrated with the dual-motor, multi-gear DHT, with an engine thermal efficiency utilization rate of 95.5%. Its first light hybrid system energy distribution patent (CN202110012092.5) optimizes the power of the electric supercharger and DCDC inverter to improve fuel economy by 30%, and the NEDC fuel consumption of the whole vehicle is as low as 3.6L/100km. the refrigerant direct-cooling battery technology achieves a peak discharge of 70kW in 10 seconds, and reduces the energy consumption of cooling by 22.5%, which has been equipped in the best-selling models of the TranSwitch GS8 and Shadow Leopard. best-selling models.
