The company name has been changed from Kia Motors Corporation to Kia Corporation in an effort to break away from its traditional position as an automobile manufacturer and transform itself into a mobile mobility provider. Kia has always been committed to the “Mobility” concept. In 2021, Kia’s global sales were 2.777 million units, up 6.5% year-on-year, and ranked No. 7 globally, and in May 2021, Kia’s global market sales exceeded 50 million units.
In terms of R&D, Kia has established a global R&D network with the Nanyang Research Institute in South Korea as the core point and five R&D centers in China, the United States, Europe, Japan and India as the radiation points. Meanwhile, Kia has more than 10 factories in six countries, including Korea, China, the United States, Slovakia, Mexico, and India, with an annual production capacity of 3.7 million vehicles. In addition, Kia has more than 5,000 dealerships around the world, covering more than 180 countries, providing consumers around the world with innovative mobility products and service experiences.
